Hello, my name is Janice Cosco and I would like to welcome you to the Marion County Clerk’s Office’s webpage. As the County Clerk of Marion County, I would like to take a minute to tell you what we do in our office.  The County Clerk is the official recorder and record keeper for most legal documents. These documents include births, marriages, deaths, wills, deeds, mortgages, releases, liens and much more. Our Office issues justifications of surety. Our Office also performs the duty of the redemption of real estates property taxes.

The County Clerk also serves as the County’s Chief Election Official supervising, administrating elections and voter’s registration. We are responsible for maintaining the custody and integrity of the county's voting machines. We conduct training for poll workers, preparing and reviewing the ballots, both electronic, paper and absentee ballots. We are in charge of canvassing the election and preparing and maintaining the minutes of each election.

Our office takes care of the county’s accounts receivables, payables, and payroll for county employees.

We also administer oaths for appointees to any Boards within Marion County.

We issue marriage license, hunting and fishing license and we also provide free notary services.  We probate wills, and assist in the administration of estates.

We are charged with preserving all of our county documents.

The County Clerk also serves as the Clerk to the Marion County Commission. This responsibility includes taking minutes for the County Commission Meetings and presenting them at those meetings. We are the Official record keeper of the County Commission. We are also the keeper of all County Commission Orders.

Our office is open Monday through Friday from 8:30 am till 4:30 pm, excluding legal holidays; we do not close for lunch.

The Marion County Clerk and her staff truly understand the meaning of public service. We are here to serve and assist you in any way possible. This is our mission statement.

Thank you for visiting our site and hopefully our County as well.
